This first year of the thirties BSA had 15 models lined up in the catalogue. All models could be supplied with either acetylene or electric lights. Also BSA had 8 sidecars models on offer.

1.74 h.p. A30-2 A30-2 or 1.74 h.p. 3-speed. This was the last year for this early BSA two stroke experiment which started in 1928. It never became a big success. black frame, green petrol tank

2.49 h.p. O.H.V. B30-4 B30-4 or 2.49 h.p. O.H.V. the basic 249cc overhead valve modelwith a chrome plated petrol tank. black frame, chrome plated petrol tank with green top panel, twin exhausts. Twistgrip controls extra.
3.49 h.p. L30-5 L30-5 or 3.49 h.p. The bigger brother of the B30-3 but still a very basic sidevalve solo machine, basically the standard model 349cc sidevalve. black frame, green petrol tank
4.93 h.p. S30-7 S30-7 or 4.93 h.p. The 493cc inclined engine model or Sloper. This was the basic sidevalve sloper. black frame, green petrol tank, 5 1/2" front brake, 19x300 tyres.
5.57 h.p. O.H.V. H30-8 H30-8 or 5.57 h.p. The basic 557cc sidevalve Sloper. black frame, green petrol tank, 5 1/2" front brake, 19x300 tyres.
4.93 h.p. S30-9 de Luxe S30-9 de Luxe or 4.93 h.p. de Luxe. The luxury option 493cc sidevalve sloper fitted with heavier frame, footboards and optional sports handlebars. black frame, green petrol tank, 7" brakes front and rear. Long twist grip controls extra. Footboards optional.
5.57 h.p. de Luxe H30-10 H30-10 de Luxe or 5.57 h.p. de Luxe. The more luxurious big sidevalve sloper basicly the same options as the S30-9, its smaller brother. black frame, green petrol tank, 7"brakes front and rear, heavy clutch, footboards. Long twist grip controls extra.
4.93 h.p. O.H.V. S31-9 S31-9 or 4.93 h.p. O.H.V. The basic model 493cc overhead valve Sloper. black frame, green petrol tank, instrument panel on handlebars. Twistgrip throttle optional.
3.49 h.p. O.H.V. L30-11 L30-11 or 3.49 h.p. O.H.V. This 349cc OHV sloper turned out to be underpowered or overweight (whatever you like). Also available in special sports trim (high compression piston, special cams, racing plug, special valve springs and racing magneto). These engines were stencilled with a red star on the timing cover to distinguish them from the normal engines. 4.93 h.p. O.H.V. de Luxe S30-13 S30-13 de Luxe or 4.93 h.p. O.H.V. de Luxe. The ultimate sloper in 1930 which had like all the other OHV sloper models a chrome plated tank and according to BSA an indestructible clutch. The stuff that dreams are made of. black frame, chrome plated petrol tank with green top panel, 7" brakes front and rear. Twistgrip throttle optional. Twist grip ignition, air cleaner and detachable carrier extra.
7.70 h.p. E30-14 E30-14 or 7.70 h.p. This 770cc sidevalve V-Twin stemmed from a long line of BSA V-Twins hence the odd capacity which dated back to the early BSA years. black frame, green petrol tank.
9.86 h.p. G30-15 G30-15 or 9.86 h.p. The 986cc sidevalve V-twin with the same basic specification as the E30-14 with total loss lubrication and additional hand pump for an extra shot of oil. black frame, green petrol tank.
9.86 h.p. W.T. G30-16 G30-16 W.T. or 9.86 h.p. W.T. The 986cc sidevalve V-twin in Wolrd Tour specification with total loss lubrication and additional hand pump for an extra shot of oil.This was the heavyweight V-Twin intended for the roughest sidecar work like the overseas
colonies with their lousy roads. The two wheeled tractor of the thirties.

4.93 h.p. Light S30-18 S30-18 Light or 4.93 h.p. Light. This was a 493cc sidevalve
model with normal upright engine in light cycle parts but not intended for racing purposes.

4.93 h.p. O.H.V. Light S30-19 S30-19 Light or 4.93 h.p. O.H.V. Light. The OHV version of the so
called light models with nickel plated tank.
